The Global Parameters window is used to set the System Identification, Time and Version options for the device.
On the Menu Bar click Device.
On the Device menu, click Global Parameters. The Global Parameters window is displayed. The Global Parameters window has the following four tabs:
Identification
Time
Version
FFT
The default screen is the Identification tab.
Description – Device General description.
Name – User assigned device name that appears on all system windows Title Bars.
Note:
A new device name appears in the title only after you click
.
Location – Device geographic location.
Contact Person – The person or people responsible for the device.
System Up Time – Time elapsed since the last reset.
System Time – Current user-defined device time (which should be entered in the hours : minutes : seconds order).
System Date – Current user-defined device date (which should be entered in the day / month / year order).
SW Version – Version of software currently running on the device.
HW Version – Version of hardware currently operating with the device.
IP Fast Forward – If enabled, IP packets are being forwarded via ASIC (hardware). If disabled, packets are forwarded through the CPU.
IPX Fast Forward – If enabled, IPX packets are being forwarded via ASIC (hardware). If disabled, packets are forwarded through the CPU.
