GARP VLAN Registration Protocol (GVRP) protocol is for the automatic distribution of VLAN membership information among VLAN-aware bridges.
To view GVRP Status:
On the Menu Bar, click Device.
On the Device menu, point to GVRP.
On the GVRP menu, click Properties. The GVRP Status window is displayed. The GVRP Status window has the following two tabs:
Device Parameters
Port Parameters
The Device Parameters tab displays the following field:
GVRP Status — Disables or enables the feature on the device.
To enable or disable
the GVRP feature on the device:
Display the GVRP Status – Device Parameters Tab window.
From the drop-down list, select either Disabled or Enabled.
Click
. When the Status field displays “Finished!”, the device
status is changed.
The Ports Parameters tab displays the following columns:
IfNum — Lists the active port IfIndex numbers.
Port GVRP Status — Enables or disables GVRP per the individual port.
To enable
or disable the GVRP status for a particular port:
Display the GVRP Status – Port Parameters Tab window (see Figure 4–32).
Right-click the port GVRP status being changed. A pop-up menu with the options Enable/Disable is displayed.
Select Disable or Enable. The description in the Port GVRP Status column is changed to reflect the selected status.
Click
. When the Status field displays “Finished!”, the modified
ports are confirmed as modified.
