Setting NMS Options

For your convenience, you can set NMS options before starting the applet. In the NMS main window, click the Options button; the General Options window is displayed.

On the left-hand side of the General Options window, the following two icons are displayed:

Configuration () - Click to access the General Options - Configuration dialog box.
Traps () - The General Options window displays the Trap Monitor by default. While in the General Options - Configuration dialog box, click the Traps icon to return to the Trap Monitor.

You can set the following NMS options:

Option	Instructions
Choose the default name of the frequently used device	Click the Edit Device List button in the General Options - Configuration dialog box. Refer to Edit Device List.
Modify SNMP properties to accomodate for different traffic loads	Refer to the SNMP/TFTP Configuration area in the General Options - Configuration dialog box.
View SNMP events of the entire network	Refer to Trap Monitor.
Edit configuration file	Click the Convert File button in the General Options - Configuration dialog box. Refer to Configuration File Conversion. The Edit Configuration File option can be accessed either via General Options - Configuration dialog box or File main menu.
