GARP VLAN Registration Protocol (GVRP) protocol is for the automatic distribution of VLAN membership information among VLAN-aware bridges.
The GVRP Status window has the following two tabs:
Device Parameters
Port Parameters
The Device Parameters tab displays the following field:
GVRP Status — Disables or enables the feature on the device.
To enable or disable the GVRP feature on the device:
Display the GVRP Status – Device Parameters Tab window.
From the drop-down list, select either Disabled or Enabled.
Click . When the Status field displays “Finished!”, the device status is changed.
The Ports Parameters tab displays the following columns:
IfNum — Lists the active port IfIndex numbers.
Port GVRP Status — Enables or disables GVRP per the individual port.
Restricted VLAN Registration — Restricts VLAN registration to static and disables dynamic registration. The options are as follows:
True — Dynamic VLAN registrations is disabled.
False — Dynamic VLAN registrations is enabled.
To enable or disable the GVRP status for a particular port:
Display the GVRP Status – Port Parameters Tab window (see Figure 4–32).
Right-click the port GVRP status being changed. A pop-up menu with the options Enable/Disable is displayed.
Select Disable or Enable. The description in the Port GVRP Status column is changed to reflect the selected status.
Click . When the Status field displays “Finished!”, the modified ports are confirmed as modified.
